Introduction

Learn how to label your QR Codes when bulk-downloading them. The names you chose for your QR Codes will be displayed beneath or on top of the Code - depending on the design.

What is a bulk download?

Bulk-downloading refers to the process of downloading multiple files or data records at once, instead of doing it one by one. In our tutorial, we will start by first bulk-generate QR Codes via a CSV-upload, to later download them as a bulk.

How to prepare your CSV-file for bulk-uploading QR Codes

1. Create a CSV to bulk-upload your QR Codes

Use a CSV-file to bulk-upload your QR Codes and use the numbers or IDs as the QR Codes' names. View and upload our sample CSV-file to learn how it's done:

You can name your QR Codes consecutively, e.g. 0001, 0002, and so on. In the CSV-file

  • Column A is the Target-URL,
  • Column B is the QR Codes name (that will be displayed as a label),
  • Column C is the QR Codes Short-URL.

Please create your CSV-file accordingly before uploading. For more information on how the CSV must be structured, what information it may entail,  and how to finally upload the file, please read this article.

You can set additional options for your bulk-created QR Codes.

Delimiter

Set which delimiter your uploaded CSV file uses: Semicolon or Comma (or let the platform detect it).

Choose your delimiter
It is best to decide for one delimiter - do not mix them in your CSV.

Dynamic QR Code

Determine whether you want your QR Codes bulk-generated as dynamic or static QR Codes.

Lowercase only

You can activate Lowercase only if you don't want any uppercase letters in your Short URL.

If you activate this, your Short URLs will not include any uppercase letters.

Vanity URL length

Determine how long your Vanity URLs should be by entering a number (6-20) or by using the right-hand arrows. This only takes effect if your Short URLs are randomly generated (and have not been entered into the CSV).

Overwrite existing QR Codes with new target URL

Activate this option to bulk-change target URLs of already existing QR Codes in your account.

You can change existing QR Codes in bulk by using this option.
Remember to use the same Short URLs in your CSV as the already existing QR Codes you want to change, so the platform knows which QR Codes to update.

Extract the title automatically from target URL

You may use the target websites' titles as the names for your QR Codes. Importing will take longer with this option enabled, as each URL must be crawled individually.

Activate this option to extract the target URLs´ titles to be used as the QR Codes´ names.
Even when extracting the names from the titles, your CSV needs to include names in column B, else your QR Codes will be generated incorrectly.

5. Click "Import QR Codes"

After everything has been set up, please click Import QR Codes to begin the importing process.

You can directly download the whole bulk of imported QR Codes by clicking the Download button. You will then be able to apply a design to all QR Codes and/or download them.

8. Determine the desired file format

Now choose the desired file format. We suggest using vector formats to keep your QR Codes sharp and unpixelated, regardless of the current zoom factor. Of course, we also offer raster formats.

9. Activate the option to add names

10. Download your QR Codes

11. Wait for the job to finish

The duration of the QR Code generation job depends on the file format, the design and, of course, the number of QR Codes. A few black-and-white ones won't take more than a few seconds, but 500 heavily designed QR Codes in a more complex format will take a few minutes. You can stay on your Jobs Page or go somewhere else in the meantime.

We will send you an E-mail once the job is done. Now, you will be able to download your bulk.

The maximum number of QR Codes generated per job is 500.

If you left your Jobs Page, you can access it by clicking on Batch QR in your left-hand navigation bar and then hitting View All Jobs (or by directly going here).
