Setting permissions for White Label Users

The Permissions Tab within a user menu allows administrators to configure each user within their instance individually as needed. 

Accessing and editing user permissions as an Administrator

When in the User Overview of your White Label instance, please click the pencil symbol next to the user who's permissions you aim to edit.

White Label User Permissions

Once in the User Menu, scroll down to the Permissions Tab. Here, you will find a wide range of permissions you can set for the user in question.

Let's go through all the different types of permissions and what each setting does.

Permissions and restrictions are only applied when the account is accessed with the user credentials. They do not apply to admins who log into a user account via the User Overview.

Maximum number of QR Codes/Landing Pages

First, you can set the maximum number of QR Codes and Landing Pages this
user may manage simultaneously. Please keep in mind that this number is usually capped at 250 per user.

If you need more than 250 QR Codes or Landing Pages per user, please contact us.

These two numbers set by the administrator determine how many QR Codes and Landing Pages this user will be able to manage within their account (total number).

Redirect URL

Here you can choose how the user will be redirected to your Target URLs. For more information, please read our article on redirection.

This field determines whether the user will be set to 301- or JS-redirect.

Time Format

Use this setting to choose between 12- and 24-hour time format within the user account.

The administrator can choose in what format time stamps will be displayed to the user within their account.

Allow User Agent Tracking

Limit a user's access to basic statistics of QR Code scans, or prohibit them from tracking their users. This might be necessary in order to adhere to local data protection regulations. For more information, please read our article on disabling QR Code tracking.

If the administrator disables this option for a user, their QR Codes will only be tracked in a very limited way.

The requests and unique visitors of a QR Code (simple scan statistics) will always be visible to a user. Detailed statistics may be turned off for any user.

When allowed by the administrator, more detailed statistics are available to this user, displayed below a QR Code´s simple scan statistic. This is the default setting.

Scheduling

The scheduling function allows users to define specific times during which a QR Code redirects to a certain landing page after being scanned. For more information, please visit our article on scheduled redirects.

If the administrator disables this option for a user, they will not be able to use the scheduling function for their QR Codes.

This user has the standard setting: they can use schedulers for their QR Codes.

Vanity URL

Determine if the user can change their QR Codes' Vanity URLs.

If the administrator disables this option for a user, they will not be able to set Vanity URLs for their QR Codes.

By default, users can set their QR Codes´s Vanity URLs. To change an already existing one, they can click the pencil symbol in the QR Code Overview.

This user cannot set or change the Vanity URLs of their QR Codes.

API

Deactivate this option, and the user will no longer see the API button - hindering them from accessing their Secret API-key as well as the documentation. The user will thus not be able to use API-calls towards their account.

If the administrator disables this option for a user, they will not be able to access the API section of their account.

By default, users can access an account's API section, and see the Secret API Key for that user instance.

The administrator has deactivated the API access for this user. They will not be able to see the secret API Key.

SMS Alerts

Want your user to be able to get scan-notifications via SMS? Activate it here. But first, this service must be booked before being able to use it. For more information and the pricing of SMS Alerts, please visit this site.

If the administrator activates this option for a user, they will be able to activate SMS notifications for their QR Codes.

By default, SMS notifications cannot be activated for QR Codes.

This user's administrator has booked SMS notifications for their account and has enabled this function for this user.

GPS Tracking

Forbid users to utilize GPS tracking for their QR Codes by deactivating this setting.

If the administrator deactivates this option for a user, they will no longer be able to activate GPS tracking for their QR Codes.

The administrator of this account has not deactivated GPS tracking for this user. They may activate it for their QR Codes.

Access Statistics only

If you want a user to only be able to access their account's statistics, activate this option for them.

Please be aware that activating Access Statistics Only will keep the user from generating or editing QR Codes and Landing Pages within their account!

If the administrator activates this option, this user will only be able to access and use statistic-related functions in their account.

By default, every user can create and edit QR Codes and Landing Pages in their account.

Here, the user may only access statistics and download the QR Codes within their account

Import

Determine if the Import Page can be accessed by the user, e.g. in case you want to forbid the user from performing any bulk-imports (like the CSV-import).

If the administrator deactivates this option, this user may not use any of the platform's import options.

By default, users can access their account's Import section, where they are able to bulk-import QR Codes or Business Cards.

This user may only create single QR Codes and Landing Pages within their account.

Delete QR Codes

Permit or deny a user to delete QR Codes and Landing Pages from their account.

If the administrator deactivates this option, this user will no longer be able to delete QR Codes from their account.

By default, every user can delete all of their QR Codes and Landing Pages by marking them and choosing the appropriate option in the top-right Drop-Down Menu.

In this case, the user may not delete any QR Codes or Landing Pages from their account.

Create/Edit QR Codes and Landing Pages

These two options determine if this user can create or edit QR Codes and Landing Pages within their account.

If the administrator deactivates these options, this user will no longer be able to access the QR Code Generator and Landing Page Editor of their account.

By default, all users may create all kinds of QR Codes and Landing Pages within their account.

Here, only the Landing Page Editor may be accessed by this user, and not the QR Code Generator.

In this case, the administrator deactivated access to the Landing Page Editor, but left the QR Code Generator active.

This user has been denied access to both the QR Code Generator and the Landing Page Editor in his account by the administrator.

Sticker Shop

Show or hide the Sticker Shop button - when activated, the QR Code can directly be transmitted to zazzle.com (without designs) through the QR Code's Options Tab and be printed there on different media.

If the administrator activates this option, this user can print their QR Codes via the zazzle.com-integration.

By default it is not possible for users to utilize the zazzle.com-integration for their QR Codes.

This user's administrator activated the zazzle.com-integration for their account.

Media

Decide if a a user may access their Media section by controlling this option.

This option let's the administrator determine whether this user may access the media section or not.

By default, users can access their account's Media section.

This user may not access their Media section because the adminstrator deactivated this possibility in the Permissions Menu.

Save QR Design Templates

Determine if this User can save QR Design Templates. This has no bearing on accessing their QR design tool or on applying already saved templates.

If this setting gets deactivated, this user will not be able to save QR Design Templates.

As long as allowed by the admin, this user may save new templates into his account's QR design tool.

Here, the user may not save any QR Code Design Templates.

Integrations

If this option gets deactivated by the administrator, a user may no longer access the Integrations page. For more information on integrations, please visit the respective article in our Knowledge Base (currently for HubSpot, MailChimp and Salesforce).

Administrators may prohibit users to access their account's Integrations page by deactivating this setting.

By default, users can access their account's Integrations page and connect their account with the available services.

In this case, the administrator has deactivated this user's Integrations page.

Remember to save!

After setting everything up as desired, the administrator must finally hit Save, located at the end of the Permissions Tab.

If available, always click "Save" after changing settings on an electronic device.
Administrators also have the option to show/hide
elements and add functionality on their instance via Java Script and CSS injection.
