Yes, you can disable the tracking of dynamic QR Codes even we track fully GDPR compliant and we do not store any Personal Identifiable Information (PII).

How accurate is the position of where the QR Code has been scanned?

The IP address is used. For each IP address also a position is approximated ( average accuracy about 200 kM). For a more precise position, activate the GPS location in the options menu of a QR code.

How long is the tracking data of my QR Codes stored?

We keep your tracking data of your QR Codes in accordance with GDPR for a maximum of 5 years. You can also delete the tracking data yourself at any time.

What time zone is used when a QR Code is tracked?

When a QR Code is scanned we first get the location of the device and depending on the location we compute the local time zone that shows up in the statistics

Is your service guaranteed free of advertising?

Yes! Our service is free of any kind of advertising. Beware of 3rd party QR Code scanners that might display ad banners. Use the internal camera app instead.

Can I get the phone number, name or address of the person who scanned the QR Code?

No. For security reasons it is not possible to track the person's phone number or any other details like name or address just by scanning the QR Code.

Why do I see scans and requests from countries in my statistics where I did not publish the QR Code?

The device is behind a proxy, a bot from abroad is faking its user agent or there is a chance that the IP address is assigned by us to the wrong country.

Are the IPs of unique visitors tracked GDPR and CCPA compliant when scanning a QR Code?

Yes, the way we track unique visitors is GDPR / CCPA compliant. This is done by anonymizing and hashing the IP address of the user who scans the QR Code.
