We have been using QR Codes for years. What was missing was the ability to quickly measure all active tracking Codes and perform detailed analyses per Code. With the qrplanet.com platform, we now have all the evaluations and details we need to continuously improve our service.

QR Codes have become an integral part of our everyday lives. They not only facilitate the transfer and availability of information, but also the communication between companies and customers in general. Magenta, Austria's leading mobile phone and internet provider, recognised the potential of QR Code technology for customer service and marketing early on, but needed a professional platform that also offered comprehensive reporting on where and how often QR Codes are used.

With our platform at qrplanet.com, Magenta was not only able to integrate QR Codes into its customer processes across the entire company, but also gained access to the comprehensive reporting functions that a company needs to accurately analyse the use and performance of the QR Codes it employs. This means that all the information required to continuously improve and intensify digital contact is available, too.

About Magenta Telekom

Magenta Telekom (T-Mobile Austria GmbH) is a leading
provider of internet, mobile communications, entertainment, and business solutions in Austria. Magenta offers its customers ultra-fast broadband via fiber optics and mobile communications, entertainment, and the latest technologies for digital living and working.

Around 2,200 employees are in daily contact with customers. Magenta's comprehensive portfolio of products and services also means a heap of information that the company must provide in order to enable digital entertainment and information for everyone, everywhere, and on any device. Updated daily and regionally.

Communication is becoming increasingly more digital. Customers want to consume information when they have the time to do so.

Why QR Codes?

Connection between the offline and online worlds

Magenta wanted to simplify the transfer of information in its stores while promoting digital services such as app downloads and product registrations. This was to be achieved without media discontinuity.

QR Codes allow large amounts of data to be accessed quickly and easily in a small space. No special programs or apps are required. The integrated camera of a mobile phone is sufficient. And by using dynamic QR Codes, companies can track exactly how often and when the corresponding QR Codes are scanned.
Magenta uses QR Codes across platforms to provide its customers with the best offers and related information directly and without detours.

This ranges from registering a new prepaid card to signing up for Magenta TV and easily booking additional packages such as Netflix, right through to easy access to the Magenta app.

App-Download via QR Code

With one scan, customers can register their new smartphone or download the Magenta app and gain access to their bills or other services.

Access is not only easy, but also sustainable. Waste of resources is avoided, for example by eliminating paper folders.

We use QR Codes in many different areas. This starts with our KLAX prepaid card packages, where QR Codes ease the registration process for our customers with the Magenta app. But we also use QR Codes to provide information to our customers. Whether it's the latest news about our ongoing expansion of fiber optic connections or regional news, dynamic QR Codes make our customer service even more regional. And, of course, we also use QR Codes to support our Green Magenta initiative, as they help reduce paper folders and thus contribute to the conservation of resources.

Fiber optic check via QR Code

Magenta is driving forward the expansion of fiber optics infrastructure in Austria, thereby enabling more people to access high-speed internet. Using QR Codes, Magenta offers its customers a quick and easy way to check whether their location already has a fiber optic connection.

By scanning the QR code, customers can immediately find out whether a fiber optic connection is already available at an address.

Real-time measurability and performance insights

The QR platform from qrplanet.com not only helps Magenta create and manage the many QR Codes that are in use. Magenta can access detailed real-time reporting on scans and usage directly in the platform, showing not only which QR Codes are used most frequently, but also how they contribute to improving the overall customer journey. These accurate evaluations and analyses are an important part of supporting everyday work.

Monthly scan report & AI insights

And that's not all. Since October, all qrplanet.com customers automatically receive a QR Code scan report by email once a month. This means that the most important QR Code metrics, such as scan numbers, devices used, locations, and time series, are delivered directly to their inbox at the beginning of each month. Tracking is fully GDPR-compliant and does not involve the storage of personal data. An additional feature is the new AI Insight as part of the report. Based on the data, qrplanet.com generates individual recommendations on how to improve QR Code performance in a targeted manner.
A new service that Magenta also finds very beneficial. This means you are already up to date at the beginning of the month.

The detailed evaluations not only show which QR Codes are used most frequently. The data-driven insights help Magenta to gradually improve the provision of information and to tailor the content behind the QR Codes even better to different customer segments, regions, or seasons.
