Digital Product Passport (DPP)

When compliance meets innovation.

The European Union is making the Digital Product Passport (DPP) mandatory for more and more product categories from 2027 in order to promote sustainability and the circular economy.

Our DPP Manager provides you with a reliable and efficient all-in-one solution for all your product information requirements - regardless of whether you already need a DPP for EU compliance reasons or want to position yourself as a pioneer among your customers with an innovative and structured product information solution.

What is the Digital Product Passport?

The Digital Product Passport is a structured electronic file that contains all important information on the entire life cycle of a product. A data carrier, such as a QR Code, must be attached to the product (or its packaging) to make the Digital Product Passport accessible.

The battery passport is the first digital product passport that will be mandatory in the EU in 2027. The Digital Product Passport will gradually become mandatory for more and more products on the European market.

The DPP Manager

With our DPP Manager solution, digital product passports can be easily created and efficiently managed for a wide range of product groups, including batteries. Structured product information - such as technical specifications, sustainability data, material compositions or compliance documents - can be centrally recorded, maintained and updated at any time. With our DPP Manager, current EU regulatory requirements can be reliably fulfilled.

Access control

In our DPP Manager, you can assign roles and thus define access rights as required by law. This ensures access control and GDPR compliance.

Digital provision

Provision

A smart QR Code

The content provided in the Digital Product Passport can be made accessible via a QR Code. For QR Code creation, use our robust web-based platform, which allows you to create GS1 Digital Link QR Codes.

The GS1 standards play a crucial role in making this system work on a global scale. They provide the interoperable identification framework necessary to link the physical product to its digital twin (the Digital Product Passport) and ensure that data remains accessible and consistent across borders.

Support of all over 60 GS1 link types

A GS1 Digital Link is essentially a web address that is stored directly in the QR Code. When scanned, it is not just a website that opens - but structured product information that can provide different content depending on requirements. Link types define what type of information is called up when a GS1 QR Code is scanned. One code - but different types of information behind it.

Among the more than 60 available link types are, for example:

  • Product information
  • Instructions for use
  • Nutritional information
  • Certificates
  • Traceability data
  • Digital Product Passport (DPP)

Systems (e.g. apps, retailer software or authority portals) automatically recognize what type of information is being provided. A single code can therefore serve different target groups - full flexibility with just one QR Code.

Create your Digital Product Passport with our DPP Manager and make it accessible via a QR Code on your products - with QR Planet you get everything from a single source. With just one scan, you can meet compliance requirements while enhancing your marketing initiatives with ease with our next level product marketing.

Next level product marketing

Innovation

Next level product marketing

In addition to fulfilling legal requirements and thus compliance, the DPP offers entrepreneurs further advantages, namely transparency and traceability, the opportunity to optimize the supply chain and strengthen their market position.

In addition to providing the mandatory information, entrepreneurs can use the QR Code for next level product marketing and have the ability to track customers, run campaigns and analyze data. In this way, you can take advantage of new opportunities and significantly improve marketing initiatives with ease.

Advanced analyses

With the advanced analysis functions of our GS1 QR Code solution, you can analyze transaction data according to various criteria such as country, city, language, device, operating system, etc.. This makes it possible to analyze and compare customer interaction between product lines, languages, media types, etc.

For completely customized analyses, you can also load the analysis data into your analysis system such as Microsoft Power BI or Tableau via our API and create your individual dashboards there.

Geo-based information

Display product information based on the scan location. With our solution, you can display different versions of product information depending on where the user has scanned the GS1 QR Code.

Use this option if you have offers that vary from region to region.

Product videos

Provide consumers with videos about your product.

  • Integrate your own product videos.
  • Let your customers also create and provide product videos - this increases the trustworthiness of the product as it is shown in real use.

Product reviews

Use the opportunity to present product reviews to customers in a physical store that you have collected in the webshop, for example.

You can use our GS1 QR Code solution to show reviews to consumers at the point of sale (POS), increasing trust and the likelihood of a sale.

New reviews can also be collected by scanning the QR Code on the product.
